Small Group – Big
Results
Ok, so I am seriously behind on updating our
blog! I’m still trying to figure out how to incorporate writing into my weekly
routine.
Even
though it’s now late October, let me back up a bit. On September 13th,
our church small group gathered up chain saws, brush cutters, and even a small
tractor with a brush-hog and got down and dirty. Our friends did more work in a
few hours then we could have done in two weeks. One of the biggest challenges
was keeping the work focused because of how fast the brush and trees where
coming down. Nick’s little Kabota tractor was able to push large piles of brush
around with little effort and when he wasn’t doing that, he put the brush-hog
to work.
By the end of the day, we had opened up a large
area that allowed us to get a much better visual feel for the lay of the land
and where we might want to build. After we all wore our selves out, we enjoyed
a potluck picnic before the crew packed up and headed home.
Tired, dirty, and incredibly blessed, Julie and I
had big smiles as we surveyed all that had gotten accomplished thanks to our
amazing friends!
